Wildynamics

Expressing the Wild

For more than two decades, Longboard has believed that the finest expression of coffee is not engineered, but revealed.

Wildynamics is the philosophy that guides that belief.

It begins with a simple observation: long before coffee was cultivated at Misty Mountain, invisible communities of wild yeasts and bacteria were already shaping this landscape. They live in the forest, the air, the fruit and the mill itself. Every harvest has always belonged to them as much as it belongs to us.

We do not introduce them.
We do not replace them.
We simply allow them to speak.
This October, Longboard presents the second Wildynamics Auction.
Twelve washed and natural coffees, plus two peaberries, from a single vintage.

Before bidding begins, fifteen tasting collections will be released to collectors worldwide.

Nature, Uncorrected.

Wildynamics is not a process.
It is not a recipe.
It is not a fermentation method.
It is a philosophy of observation.

A belief that extraordinary coffee begins by paying closer attention to the place from which it comes.

The microorganisms responsible for these fermentations have always lived at Misty Mountain.

They arrive with the morning mist.
They move through the forest canopy.
They settle on the fruit.
Season after season they return to the mill, quietly becoming part of the estate itself.

Our role is not to overwrite this ecology.

It is to understand it.

The unseen, made visible.

Every coffee tells the story of thousands of invisible lives.
Most remain unnamed.
Wildynamics attempts to make them visible — not by changing fermentation, but by recognising what fermentation has always been.
A living conversation between fruit, forest, climate and countless microorganisms.
Because nature never repeats itself, no vintage does either.
Every lot preserves something of the year that made it.
The crop is the record of what occurred.
12+2

Twelve, plus two.

The 2026 Wildynamics Auction presents twelve washed and natural coffees, plus two peaberries, from a single Geisha vintage.

Each began in the forest.
Each followed a different microbial journey.

Together they reveal the extraordinary diversity that exists within one place, one season and one philosophy.

The collections do not.

The Philosophy

Wildynamics is not about doing less.
Nor is it about doing more.
It is about recognising that the most important work often happens before we arrive.
The forest writes the first chapter.
The microorganisms continue the story.
Our responsibility is simply to listen.

The Auction

Thursday 8 October 2026

The second Wildynamics Auction brings together fourteen singular expressions from the 2026 vintage — twelve washed and natural lots, plus two rare peaberries.

Each lot will be offered individually to collectors and roasters from around the world.

Once the auction concludes, these coffees become part of Longboard's history.

They will never be repeated.

Fifteen.
That is all.
Fifteen numbered collections.
Twelve coffees.
One vintage.

One opportunity to taste the vintage before it disperses forever.

Priority access before the second Wildynamics Auction.
